Thanksgiving

For Thanksgiving this year we went to Casey's mom & dad's house. It was a small get together this year. Shelby, Shayden, Brad, Mona, Casey, Caleb, Gma Sorensen, Gma Freeze & myself. The food was WONDERFUL. I made my Grandma Anderson's rolls again this year & they are delicious. I can't figure out how to fold them though. I remember that my grandma's rolls were all the same size & looked identical. Mine go from one end of the spectrum to the next. I need to perfect the fold! After we ate we watched a couple of movies & then headed to my parents house to play a game. We played Apples to Apples. Always a good time. I sent Jordon a list of ABC's of what I am thankful for. So many things - but some letters were hard!! I hope that he had a great Thanksgiving.
I told Caleb to smile & he struck this pose.
What a cutie.
Yes you can probably see your reflection in my forehead - (it's so shiny in pictures lately!),
& yes Caleb has his finger right up his nostril.
Casey & I were going to attempt a date night on Saturday - but Caleb ended up with a fever & was very cranky. We stayed home & put up our Christmas tree instead. Cheap date :) I have no idea what Caleb's fever was about. He always gets sick on the weekends so it's hard to get him into a Dr. His fever finally broke yesterday & he ate breakfast this morning so the little guy is on the mend.

Enriching Women's Lives

....& Caleb's as well! I ordered some Mary Kay last week & I think Caleb was just as excited as I was. He loves to make a mess of things....dog food, marbles, paper, puzzle pieces & we can now add Styrofoam peanuts to that list. He'll really quickly make the mess & then lay down in the middle of it on his belly & make a 'mess angel'. Strange kid. See his dirty socks sticking out of the left side?
Caleb has also started checking himself out in the mirror. Can you blame him? He's such a stud! We'll get ready to go outside & he has to run the mirror & point out his shoes & his hat & carry on a conversation with himself.
I haven't been up to a whole lot. I've been covering at work for a gal that was on maternity leave & she is now back, so I feel like I have a lot of extra time on my hands. I even cleaned my blinds the other day. For those that know me - that's a lot of ambition for my lazy butt. Since we have the windows open most of the summer days - they sure to get dusty. Speaking of my job - hints from higher ups suggest that I won't have a job come mid January. I really need to start looking for something else - but I need hours after 3pm. I'm going to apply a couple of places & if I get hired see if they can work around my Flying J schedule until I get laid off.

My older sister just had ANOTHER birthday & I made her a cute Rainbow Brite cake. I was totally bummed because every color that I used wasn't the color it was supposed to be! Does food coloring go bad? My pink was supposed to be red - my blue was supposed to be more royal - and the yellow wasn't supposed to be so orange!! Still cute - but dang!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY ANGELA!

I had a thought the other day - "I think I'll take Caleb outside to play while I start raking up the leaves" bad thought. He was ZERO help, but very cute. He would fall into the leaves, throw them over his head & take handfuls from one pile to the other . . . back & forth, back & forth, back & forth. I didn't get a lot accomplished, but it was a good time.
He LOVES to swing. He got the swing for Easter & acted like it was a torture chamber whenever we'd try to put him in it & now he can't get enough of it! He'll go up to it and say "wheeee, wheeee, wheeeee" which I've figured out means "Swing me NOW!" He'll also grab a blanket when we're inside & bring it over & say "wheeee, wheeee, wheeee" meaning that he wants to swing in it. Cute stuff.
I went to my mother-in-laws relief society enrichment night last night & learned how to make the cute watch bands that you see everywhere. I LOVE IT! One thing on my body that is small is my wrists & most of the watch bands you can buy are to big for me & my watch face ends up on the underside of my wrist getting all scratched up. Now I can make them to fit just me!! Here are a few that I've cranked out already. I think I've found a new obsession. The 2 on the ends look like they are far apart, but when you stretch it over your wrist, they lay just perfect :)

I am SO proud of myself. I have all of Caleb's Christmas & birthday presents bought & wrapped & waiting for the moment! I figure this way by the time the occasions come I will have forgotten what I wrapped so it will be a surprise for me also!

Halloween Fun

For work another gal & I arranged a fun Halloween competition. We sent an email out to everyone in a few departments saying to be thinking of a fun Halloween treat & donate a dollar to one of us & then the treats would be voted on & the winner would receive the cash that had been collected. I wasn't super creative, but made these cute candy corn cupcakes that I found on http://www.ourbestbites.com/ Cute - but not the coolest or scariest thing ever. I thought for sure I'd lose. But I won!!! My competition was a bag of Reeses....a dozen Albertson's glazed donuts....a pumpkin cream cheese cake from Kents....a bag of Almond Joys....coconut macaroons from Smiths....and pumpkin chocolate chips cookies from Smiths. I won a whopping 5 dollars. I'm like Angela from the office. The party planner who tries to make things super fun & then it bombs. Will I ever learn??
For the past 2 years we've met my Aunt Sandra & her daughter Amber at Gardner's village for some dinner & some shopping. It's always a good time. I fell in LOVE with a witch hat but couldn't allow myself to spend money on it. I said that if it was $20 or less I'd buy it, but it was $28. I bought a cute pillow pattern for a decorative Thanksgiving pillow (I hope I have some ambition to get it done before I'm 80) and a couple of cute Halloween decorations. Good food - good shopping - good times.
My new Halloween decoration!! (the witch hat)
It says "I'm melting"
The hat that I would not spend $28 dollars on.
Sandra was driving by Gardner's Village a couple of days ago & called to see if I wanted her to stop in & see if it was in my price range. It was marked down to $21 so she grabbed it for me. What a nice auntie!!

Halloween was quite interesting. Angela called me at 9:00 AM because she HAD to have the hat she tried on at Gardner's village. I wasn't planning on dressing up - but since Sandra had already bought my hat for me (which I wasn't planning on getting until around Christmas time when I saw her again) I figured I'd better dress up. We drove to West Jordon & met Sandra & Rick & got my hat & Angela got hers & then we drove home. Blake had a joke book......it was a long 3 hours. What says quick quick? A duck with hiccups. We drove by a Kohl's & Blake piped up "We should stop at Nicole's. They have really great deals" Talk about random!

After we got all dress up we went to Angela's to get pictures & then out to Casey's parents house for some pizza & then to Casey's brothers house to visit. A lot of makeup for so few stops. Blake is on the downside of the Swine Flu & since I sat in a car with him my mom banned me from her house & my grandma's house. :( I was bummed. My grandpa is old & my dad has bronchitis, so she didn't want to take any chances.
