Easter - Part 2 - Promontory

Saturday=Promontory picnic! I was so excited for Easter this year because it was so late! The end of April?!?! FINALLY - some nice weather for the Easter picnic. And mother nature slapped me. Sometimes she can be such a . . . anyways. . . the weather wasn't terrible, but it could've been a smidge better. Last year we had the annual picnic at my parents house & the year before that Promontory was so windy that we drove out, ate & left! At least this year we stayed for a while - so my complaining will cease. . . now.

Casey getting the fire started.

My mom had the cutest miniature butterfly kite. Can you see it??
Every year - the first thing Griffen & Blake do is go Lizard hunting. I'm so sad that I didn't get a picture of the 4 lizards that they had caught within the first 10 minutes of being there! The sat on the picnic table in a water bottle. . . why didn't I take a picture? The best was the few times that my mom was picking up trash & she'd pick the lizard bottle up & they'd jump. She'd scream & drop the bottle every time. Priceless!

Griffen, Blake, Jordon & Tess chillin on top of the hay bales.

Dylan (aka Brownie or Huge) and his GF Marlee.

Caleb playing with a sweet lizard he found in one of his Easter eggs. I can't believe that the Easter bunny made it to Promontory! What a champ!

Oh my Caleb. Cheese it up son. Cheese it up.

A pretty picture that Ashley took. I love that the kite & the cows & the sky & the hills are in the picture! Oh...& that Casey & Caleb are in it also.

Caleb having a panic attack when we lost the wind and his kite crashed.

My dad came to rescue me from the car so that I could eat lunch - KFC, salads, chips, fresh fruit & cupcakes - delish! Taylor was needing some TLC & Rylee slept pretty much the whole afternoon away! What perfect babies I have!

Ashley & Taylor taking a nap

Oh my. Angela managed to fall to the ground dismounting a 4-wheeler. It was super slow motion & instead of coming to her rescue, I started snapping pictures. She's dang lucky she missed all of the cow pies!

Easter - Part 1 - Dove Creek

Easter was exhausting!!! - But it was still a lot of fun. Our festivities started on Friday and we headed out to Dove Creek (it's by Park Valley...so it's quite the trek) to spend some time with Casey's family. Everyone made it there except for Tamara & her new baby McKenna - we missed them! I don't think that the temperature hit 50 degrees - but if the sun was out, it really wasn't to bad of a day.

Holy deer!!!!

Casey's mom brought hard boiled eggs and markers for the kids. Caleb would put a tiny bit of black marker on his egg and then FREAK OUT for someone to take it off!! Then.....he'd do it again! He wanted a white egg. It's a good think Mona brought several eggs, she just kept giving him a new one.

Taylor & Rylee were angels. They spend the majority of their time in the car sound asleep. I didn't even get a picture of Taylor :( But here is sweet Rylee.

Sweet little me. (bwah ha ha ha ha)

Casey doesn't want people to think that he's trying to be a 'cowboy'. He's decided to pursue an interest in authentic mountain man era things - so here he is in his pretty sweet authentic hat the he loves.

A very good picture of Casey's family.

Mona was on the ball! She even managed to get the Easter bunny out to dove creek to hide Easter eggs! Caleb was excited to find eggs that he could shake & hear the candy in. When he picked one up that had a marshmallow peep in it...it didn't make any noise...so he just dropped it to the ground and stared at it in disappointment. What a funny little drama queen.

Shelby & Casey decided to trade hats. Boys are strange.

All of the boys brought their guns to shoot. Caleb LOVES guns...which I'm thinking isn't a good thing and we need to invest in a gun safe ASAP...Casey let him look at his .22 pistol and Caleb got to go with the boys to watch them shoot. He was very discouraged that he couldn't hold the guns. Poor guy.

My little guy is so dramatic! While he & Grandma Mona were playing catch, if he missed he'd toss his paddle to the ground and slump his shoulders over and just stare at it.

By the end of the day Caleb was exhausted! Since we've had the girls, we haven't gotten out a whole lot and he had a couple months worth of energy to get out of his system. I love how he has a half smile on his face and his half eaten piece of bread in his hand. Such a cute sweet boy.

Spring!

Spring is here!!! I can't believe how much rain we have been getting. I have some tulips & daffodils that have bloomed and a few more tulips that won't bloom for probably another week. Tulips make me happy. I hate that they don't last for very long!

One of my red tulips - WIDE open taking in some sunshine.

Daffodils always remind me of the original Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory.

He looks like a total creeper in this picture.

Taylor & Rylee are getting bigger!!

In the darling ballerina shirts that my mom made for them.

Even though I suffer from exhaustion every few days - I sure am blessed to have such healthy, beautiful babies. Having twins has turned out to be a fabulous diet plan though! My weight has officially plateaued at 15 pounds LESS than my fist Dr appointment. No complaints here! My fingers are crossed twice that I can keep them off. Day to day life is pretty lame. Some days are easier than others & most days I feel like it's going well if Caleb & I are dressed and have had breakfast by 11:00.

Casey started a new job. He was working for Whitaker Construction and not making a whole lot of money, and living in Spanish Fork during the week. It was hard on him physically & emotionally. My opinion is that if you are going to be away from your home & family ALL THE TIME, you should be making the big bucks & not scraping by. He took a production job at West Liberty & still isn't making a lot, but hopefully he can move into the maintenance department (what he went to school for) and get some experience under his belt. We're still scraping by, but at least he's home at night to relax & help me out with the kids.

Caleb is super cute. He is talking like a champ!! He's also started the fun imagination stage where things have different names, and can talk. I guess I need to find my imagination again...it's totally lost. He is a good eater & trys almost anything (with a little help). We really need to work on vegetables...BUT - I also hate them, so that's a hard one. He thinks that he's to big for a sippy cup - which is probably true - so every morning he says "Hi mommy!! Have a chocolate milk and take the lid off?"

April Fools!

April Fool's Day is pretty boring without having to work! Pranks at work were some of the most fun! I figured I couldn't prank anyone & say I was pregnant...they just would've told me I was a freaking idiot....So - I had to create my own fun & I made these spaghetti & meatball cupcakes. They were quite tasty! Here are a few random pictures of what's been going on around our house. A lot of messes, the occasional mental breakdown (no pictures of that though) & a whole lot of cute kids.

Caleb thought it was so funny that Taylor kept touching his face. I LOVE Caleb's face in this one. . . but I hate that Taylor is hiding little Rylee!

I put socks on their hands to keep them warm. . . they look quite flexible in this picture, don't you think?
Caleb playing with his train.
Caleb mopping. Someone needs to for sure!
Taylor snoozing. Casey being strange. Rylee snoozing.
