Casey Turns 30!

I'm a slacker. We had the party on July 11th & I'm barely getting to writing about it!!
Eeeeek!! 30?! I guess it could be worse. I planned a fun party of 'Minute To Win It' games for both sides of our family. We met at Snow Park in Brigham City for games & dutch oven cobbler (peach & cherry). I don't understand it - but Casey's family likes pie or cobbler for their birthday desserts. I'm a cake girl. I guess it keeps me from eating treats when their birthdays roll around - so I'll stop complaining.
MINUTE TO WIN IT: My sisters had to put a puzzle together. They each had a different cereal box cut into 16 pieces and had to see who could put their puzzle together first. Ashley took the cake on this one.
MINUTE TO WIN IT:
Both sets of parents had to unravel a roll of crepe paper one handed. It was good watching!
I'll have to watch the replay on the video camera to see who the winner was - but it was really close between Casey's mom & my dad. But - we're all winners, right?
MINUTE TO WIN IT:
Place an Oreo cookie on your forehead and using only your face muscles - move it into your mouth.
Casey won this game in no time! Who knows how to use their face muscles for a purpose besides smiling??
Shelby looking at Casey in total bewilderment.
MINUTE TO WIN IT:
Ben & Derrick seeing who can empty a kleenex box the fastest one handed!

MINUTE TO WIN IT:

All of the chillins under 13 played an M&M game. They had to pick up an M&M with a straw & carry it over to another plate - whoever had the most on their 2nd plate at the end was the winner!

Griffen & Blake kept cracking up for some reason.
Our niece, Kaetlyn, DOMINATED the M&M game!
MINUTE TO WIN IT:
Casey's Brother & his wife attempting to balance 7 ding dongs on their forehead. I wonder if they would've worked better unwrapped?
MINUTE TO WIN IT:
My brothers had to keep a balloon up in the air with nothing but a spray bottle. It didn't work as well as I thought it would - but it was good watching!
Jordon keeping the balloon up!
Dylan winning the balloon game!

For those of you that aren't aware - my family can be slightly annoying/fun/rambunctious/weird/lame/hilarious. So - of course we ended up in a water fight. My sister's husband, Derrick, asked me "Where are all of the extra balloons?" So I handed him the bag of empty balloons, not even thinking!!

My dad came up to me a second later & said "Where are all of your extra balloons?" I said, "I gave them Derrick." My dad said "WHAT?!?! All of them?? Why would you do that!?" I said "oopsie."

Jordon waiting to drench someone. I don't think Casey's parents brought the cooler of water for this purpose - but it was appreciated none the less.

Angela attempting revenge on Dylan.

My mother's exact words: "Derrick. Don't you dare"

Someone yells in the background "DO IT!! She dared you!" So - he did it. I think he looks slightly pleased/scared. Needless to say - he left shortly after that.

I thought these bowls were a GREAT idea....

Doesn't he looks so proud of himself??

Feeding the ducks

Last week Angela & I took the kids to first dam in Logan to feed the ducks. We are idiots & didn't bring a ton of bread - but I think they kids still had a good time.
If you look closely - Blake is chasing a yellow butterfly . . . & wearing very fuzzy winter socks. Tee hee.

How stinkin cute is this!!??
The amazing Simba!!

Caleb gets such a kick out of this kitten. Every morning he'll go to the screen door & say "here kitt kitt kitt kitt kitt". He loves to chase the kitten (which I imagine is a bad thing). It cracks him up to see the kitten run.

Meet Simba!

So, we (okay....I) decided that Caleb needed a pet. Fish . . . not fun, dog. . .too freaking noisy. . .cat - sure! How could one resist a kitten this stinkin cute?!?! We'll keep this one outside. It'll be nice when it grows big enough to NOT fit through the chain link fence!!
Caleb waving & saying "Hi kitty!!"

Me: "Oh no! Where is Caleb?"
Me: "Caaaaaleb?? Where are youuuu??"

Caleb: "Caaaaaleb?? Are you??"

Me: "There he is!"
Caleb: "I found him!"

Kitty?

I guess while I was at work the other day - Casey & Caleb were outside. Casey was sitting in one of our patio chairs & Caleb was wandering around & stopped & looked into one of our window wells & said "Kitty??? Kitty???" Casey didn't really say anything to him. Then Caleb said "Mouse? Mouse???" Casey then came & peeked into the window well & saw nothing - so the evening went on.

Later that night Casey & I were in the basement & heard a weird thud from our downstairs bathroom. Low & behold - there was an owl stuck in the window well. I'm trying to get the thought out of my head that it was eating a mouse when Caleb saw it earlier....I'm just hoping Caleb wasn't sure what the heck it was & was throwing out guesses. Casey rescued the owl & while we were outside the mother (I'm assuming) was hovering by closely waiting to peck out our eyes in case we hurt her baby.
I wanted to pet it - but accidentally knocked it off of the fence. Oops. I put it on top of one of our sheds & the next morning he was gone - so all is well!!
The 1 warm day we had earlier this month Caleb got to play in the sprinkler. He loves it.
We also got to play in it one other day this year - but he was in sweats. Tee hee.
Brittni update: I'm still working 2 jobs. My feet REALLY hurt after my serving job - anyone know of some fabulous shoes? I'm thinking of some crocs - I freaking hate them. I think they are so ugly!! But - if they really are as comfortable as some say - I might have to cave. I'm still dieting & exercising - I've lost 10 elbees since March & I'm maintaining so that's a start! There is a 'secret' road that I have in Brigham that I would like to be able to jog the length of it by the end of the summer. I've done a smidge of interval training this past week & that's gone good - it's a lot harder with the resistance of the stroller - but that will make my muscles that much more bangin' in the end.

Casey update: Freaking Rheumatoid Arthritis. It's getting the better of him I think. He's on a leave from work & our money supply is going down...down...down. It's quite depressing. He's apprehensive about taking all of the prescriptions from the Dr but I'm afraid he's doing his joints permanent damage by not taking them all. We obviously think differently. The bonus of his leave is that I can get him moving again & try to keep his joints loosened up. Keep us in your thoughts!!
