Once upon a time.....I thought I was dying. Just kidding...just kidding. But seriously...I don't think I could have possibly gotten ANY larger.

On Saturday, February 12th, I was having contractions pretty much all freaking day! They were up really high on my stomach, so I didn't think it was 'real' labor.
Sunday morning, February 13th, came along...I was uncomfortable & miserable, just like any other day, but no pain. Then....2:00 rolled around & I was having contractions again. I'm always afraid of crying wolf or looking like a big pansy, so I just cried my way through most of the pain. Around 5:00 I decided to throw a casserole together for dinner, I had the oven preheated & half of the ingredients out & decided I should go to the hospital.
I called my sister to see if Caleb could come hang out so we could go see what was happening & she said, "OF COURSE"! We packed Caleb & myself some
'just in case this is really happening' bags & we were on our way.
The nurses got me into a room around 6:00 and long story short - I was dilated to a 6. That's right...a freaking 6! Before I could get the lovely epidural - they had to pump a whole bag of pitocin in me - that took F O R E V E R.
When having twins - they like to take every precaution. You don't get to deliver in the privacy of your own room...they wheel you into the cold, sterile operating room.
Casey...prepped & ready!

There was so many people in the operating room! Dr Dibble & his wife (she's a midwife). While one Dr is getting the first baby, the other Dr has to be pushing on the other one still inside trying to try to force it into the birth canal.
The pediatrician & he had 3 assistants. The anesthesiologist, Dr Hess, (he was a super cute old man). I was a pansy getting my epidural. I have back pain anyway...and when you're having contractions & dilated to a 9...anything extra just takes ya over the top I think. Then there was my 2 nurses and there were 2 other people that I'm not sure what they were doing there. Oh... & Casey & myself - and eventually little miss Taylor & Rylee.

I'm pretty sure it was love at first sight. I got to hold them for a split second & then Casey & the pediatrician took them into the nursery. I was wheeled back into my room my 8:15. Not to shabby of an evening! I was amazed at how quickly everything came together & all of the Dr's and help were so quick to get things done.

Little Taylor
6 lbs 11 oz
19 inches long

Little Rylee
7 lbs 3 oz
19 inches long
(I can't make the stupid picture turn!!)

I finally got to hold the babies again! They were healthy as could be.

How cute are we???!!!???

Caleb wasn't sure what to think of them. I was showing him fingers & toes & the belly of one of the twins & Caleb saw the umbilical cord & said "Wow! Look at that snake!!" He thought it was AWESOME.

Caleb...eating a delicious sugar cookie on Valentines Day.
I am so blessed. It blows my mind that I was able to carry twins to 36 weeks & have them be born so healthy & so stinking cute. I was surrounded by a kind, knowledgeable staff of Dr's & nurses. I have family members & friends who are all so supportive & kind & loving. Blessed....it's pretty much the only word that comes to my mind.
