Easter - Part 2 - Promontory

Thank goodness! Saturday's weather was so much better than Friday's! It was probably 15-20 degrees warmer! I could have done with a smidge less wind, but it made for some GREAT kite flying! There is something I really love about the simplicity of a kite soaring. I love the noise it makes & the motion of it in flight. Reeling it in sucks...but other than that I really enjoy it. When we got out to Promontory Caleb had a mini meltdown because we didn't bring him any mittens & he couldn't find his pocket on the left side of his denim jacket. We got out his camp chair & my childhood Care Bear sleeping bag & once he got warm, he did much better the rest of the day.
Derrick had little Eva wrapped up in his jacket & she must have been doing something freaking adorable because my mom & Grandma were grinning from ear to ear. My Grandma & Rylee bonded at the picnic over a fabulous cupcake. Rylee also LOVED my Grandma's huge, fancy watch band. (Who doesn't wear fancy jewelry to Promontory?!?) Rylee ended up with some of the bracelet in her mouth & my Grandma's face & comment was priceless "She shouldn't eat that! It probably came from Taiwan!" Bwah ha ha ha! You've just gotta love the lady. Taylor bonded with my Aunt Julia & cousin Bridgette....I didn't get a picture though :(

I'm pretty sure my Grandpa was wearing Jessica Simpson brand sunglasses. But he still managed to make them look super studly. I hope that I always remember my Grandpa's laugh. It is deep, hearty & completely sincere every time. I love it. Lil' rodeo Rylee on Ruger was a fun moment of the day. Thanks uncle Jordon!

Easter - Part 1 - Dove Creek

Ahhhh - Easter weekend. It's the beginning of camping, picnics, cookouts, fireworks, mosquitoes, mallow roasting, & so much more. Alas - we woke up to a pretty nice snow storm the Friday before Easter. Casey & Caleb packed up a lunch & headed out to Dove Creek to spend the day with some of his family. The girls & I stayed home. 1 year old twins in the dirt is one thing....but twin 1 year olds in the mud, wind & rain is another! I can handle some dirt.....mud though...no thanks! I hope that we can all make it out next Easter!

Brad & Mona have been working their butts of on a cute one room 'guest house' made out of pallets. It has turned out really nice! They have 3 cedar walls & they finished the wall with the stove over Easter weekend. I am excited to see the finished product the next time I make it out there. It looks very nice!

I made Casey take the camera out with him to document Easter weekend. I was pleasantly surprised that he took so many pictures!

Family Fun

Casey got a new job! He will start at the WalMart Distribution Center in Corinne on April 9th. I hope that he loves it....I hope that he can move into a department that he loves...I hope that everything works out! So - he used some vacation days to get some stuff done around the house & we decided that a family trip to the Living Planet Aquarium in Sandy was in order.

Here is Caleb in front of the shark tank. He really loved everything.

The penguin pool. There was 1 penguin that would dive into the water...swim a little...jump out & waddle over to his diving spot & start all over again. It was good watching! Caleb is looking up at the penguin here waiting for him to dive in again.
Casey's favorite part was the alligators.
I loved the little creatures in the top left picture. The things below them were neat also. They looked like a cluster of sand with eyes. Creepy. I hated the cockroaches - so I took a picutre. I loved the red crab! Caleb is looking at some jellyfish in the bottom picture.

Rylee & Taylor just chilled & enjoyed the ride. Such good girls!!

This picture was taken by the otter exhibit. I loved the otters!! They didn't hold still long enough for me to get a very good picture (& Caleb had seen the gift shop & couldn't stop talking about getting something - so he was acting like a 4 year old)
This eel was awesome.

We went to a nearby park that Casey knew of (thanks to working for Whitaker Construction) and ate our little picnic lunch. It was a fun outing. I love when they work out!

Twins 1st Birthday Photo Shoot!

Oh my goodness. Talk about a couple of cuties! Looking at these pictures pretty much exhausts me. It was a BUSY day. In my little upstairs we had - Myself, Taylor, Rylee, my mom, Angela, Ashley, Eva, Grandma Babe Aunt Sandra, Uncle Rick & the fab photographer, Amber. Taylor & Rylee didn't know what was happening! They didn't cooperate very well, but Amber still managed to get some cute shots of the girls. I had (& I am still having) a hard time finding my favorites! (I attempted some photoshop tricks...it was my first time, so no judging.)

Rylee

Weight - 20 lbs - 28 percentile

Height - 31 inches - 93 percentile

Head Circ - 46.2 - 77 percentile

Taylor

Taylor was not having the best photo day. It was an overwhelming day for her. These next two photos are funny. Taylor loves to twist her tongue & several of the pictures have her cute little tongue out.

Angela made the most darling, delicious cakes EVER for the girls cake smash pictures. Rylee was in HEAVEN! Taylor wasn't sure what to think.

I love Rylee's little foot in this one.

March Madness

Honestly....some days I feel like I am going mad! I don't know how I have managed to watch my own children & a few others & not be medicated. I feel like I spend 3/4 of my day in the kitchen (which most mom's probably do) but it is quickly becoming my LEAST favorite room in the house. I hate the basement in my house for some reason - but I sure am spending a lot more time in it lately! The little boy that I was watching who had just turned 1 (now he is 18 months) is no longer coming to my house. I couldn't handle the 3 little ones. Two is plenty. My hat goes off to those mothers of triplets. I hope that he will have fun & be happy in his new daycare!

I am very thankful for the moments that I get to myself. I am happy that it doesn't bother Casey at when I have to run to the store...go to dinner with friends...run to Ogden...or go to a Weight Watcher meeting. He totally understands that some days I just need to leave. You read that right by the way. Weight Watcher meeting. I'm back on the wagon. I think that I like the new PointsPlus program better than the previous points program that they had. I feel like I get to eat more. I have already lost 8.2 pounds in 3 weeks & I hope to make it an even 10 on next weigh day.

My sister Angela & I whipped up some adorable Easter wreaths last week. I made a large one & a medium one & the supplies only cost me $11! Woot woot!

Keeping Mr. Caleb Donner Freeze entertained is starting to be a lot more fun. He has been having some really good days with his communicating & 'no freaking out' and it has been wonderful.

Here is Caleb helping Casey trim the cherry tree.

Showing the camera his new clone trooper mask. We walked to Angela's one day & he wore it the whole way there. It was cute.

The 'no freaking out' rule hasn't been going to well with his new bike. This next week the weather will be really nice so we'll have to fight this battle a bit more. I hope that he learns to love it.

Casey doesn't get to enthused when I let Caleb play with my makeup. So - I told Caleb that it was camouflage. He loves putting on his camo - just like his dad.

Today was little miss Eva's blessing. Eva looked adorable in her blessing dress & of course - lunch was fabulous. I made these cute little invites. My cousin Amber took the darling pictures.
After the blessing (every time I hear the word blessing I can hear Uncle Lewis from Christmas Vacation in my head "They want you to say Grace. THE BLESSING!") all of our kids were exhausted. Waking up at 7 is NOT their thing. Casey thought while they napped in the car we would travel to Hardware Ranch. It was a nice drive.

We (meaning I) spotted 2 moose! I was so freaking excited!!!!!!

Then my 'EAGLE' eye (pun intended) spotted this bald eagle. Casey said "Geez ya nature lover. You don't miss anything." It cracked me up. Angela is always calling me a nature lover.

There was this funky snow formation at a park in the canyone on the way to Hardware. There was a broken pipe in the center so it kept re-freezing the snow & then would melt a little...re-freeze...melt a little. I thought it was kind of neat. Later in the afternoon it started to snow at home. Caleb HAD to get his vest & mittens & he got himself & myself an umbrella & we walked around in the snow. It was adorable. Look at that grin on his face!

Toy Story on Ice!

My mom & I took Caleb to see Toy Story on Ice. He loved it. He sat through the whole thing & is still talking about parts of the show. We had very good seats!! Row 13!

My mom bought Caleb this AWESOME Buzz Light year toy that spins & lights up. He had the cutest grin on his face. The toy shook this little boys whole body. It was like a shake weight, for toddlers. He had it spinning almost through the entire show.

Grammy & Caleb with their loves. Grammy - Diet Coke. Caleb - Buzz Light Year

The show was pretty good! The could have shaved off 30 minutes or so - but it was fine. My mom LOVED Ken...especially his legs. I LOVED the troll doll & we both loved the group of Barbies doing aerobics to The Go-Go's, "We Got The Beat" Their high heel skate covers were awesome! Caleb loved every character. When a new one would come onto the ice he would say "Look! There is ____!"Jesse started singing her lame song from Toy Story 2. The beginning lyrics are "When somebody loved me - Everything was beautiful - Every hour we spent together - Lives within my heart" The couple in front of us lovingly looked at each other...he wrapped his arm around her...and they put their heads together. My mom & I looked at each other & almost died laughing (after we got the vomit taste out of our mouths). We totally didn't get it. The kicker is - these 2 didn't even have any kids with them!!

After the show we (& almost everyone else in town) decided to go to Crown Burger for lunch because it was close. Caleb was STARVING! I don't think I've seen that boy voluntarily eat something quite so quickly. He inhaled his grilled cheese & then slept the whole way home. It was a fun day.
