The Sunday Storm

After we taught our primary lesson on Sunday we decided to drive out to Dove Creek where Casey's family was camping for Labor Day weekend. The weather in Brigham was really nice and we loaded up our chairs, Casey's guns and shooting table and stopped by the grocery store for some hot dog supplies for dinner.
As we get closer to our destination (about and hour and a half drive) this is what we see.
We pull onto Brad & Mona's property...chat for about 5 minutes and came home. Caleb was so cranky on the ride home - once again....thank heaven for the portable DVD player and Baby Einstein videos.

We were home for about 15 minutes when the storm started rolling into Brigham...and we hear a huge CRACK outside....this is what happened.

You are seeing things correctly - that is a good chunk of our tree sitting on our house. We've had some bad luck with this tree ever since we moved in...it provides some good shade, but I think it's time to get rid of the thing.

Couple of funnies...

I was talking with my sister, Angela, yesterday and our conversations seem to always end up at how we would like to drop a few pounds.
Angela: I want to be skinny
Brittni: You are skinny.
Angela: Well, I want to be skinny when I sit down.
It was freaking funny.

When I got done working last night, I decided that I wanted to go tanning. I find it so relaxing and wanted to sleep really good...so I get all situated and lay on my stomach and fall asleep. When the lights go off, it startles me and I go to sit up and smack my head on the top of the tanning bed...so I push it out of the way and go to get up and I'm stuck...............how??????..............my belly button had suctioned to the bed. It was hilarious.

My Secret Love Affair

I think that I have a problem. Food seriously stresses me out. The Box Elder County Fair was just this past weekend and I LOVE LOVE LOVE fair food. The hamburgers, the corn dogs, the Chinese food, the dutch oven food, the Polynesian food.....I don't love scones though - so I guess that's a bonus. On Saturday night Casey, Caleb, Shelby, Shayden and I met Mona there for dinner. I didn't know where to begin - so Casey & I shared a plate of Polynesian food (sweet & sour meatballs, Kahlua Pork & some sort of chicken over rice) then we each had a corn dog and shared some fries...then we walked around a little. BUT before we left we grabbed a cheeseburger and a soda. Stop judging me.

I'm SO happy that the fair is only once a year. I can't imagine my pant size if it was more often. Here is a pic of my dad & Angela chowing down their Chinese Cuisine.
My brothers had show steers in the fair this year & they both did a good job showing them. Not the best year ribbon wise - but you can't win them all.

Angela, my mom & I had a pathetic yard sale this past weekend. It reminded me of one of those yard sales where you slowly drive by...and then just keep on going. We mostly had knick knacks we didn't want any more & a bunch of clothes. We made OK money....Angela ended up with around $100, my mom around $40 and I made around $90. I'm still trying to decide if it's worth the hassle or not. People are so freaking cheap too! My mom had 3 cute jumper dresses...2 were marked for $2 and one was marked $3 and the lady wanted them for less!! One of the dresses even still had the tags on it! I told her no & she paid anyway. That's only 1 of the SEVERAL stories I could tell...I won't bore ya.

Once again, I'm starting Weight Watchers at home. This is like my 6th time starting it. Casey & I want to see how much we can lose by Christmas. Wish us the best of luck!!! (That means Peach Days food will have to be a major flex point weekend....LOVE carnie corn dogs!!)

Camping!

The Anderson side of the fam went camping last weekend. Casey & Jordon couldn't make it - hopefully next time though. It was by Chesterfield, Idaho. It's a pretty nice place. We camped right by the creek - which kept all the boys busy fishing. My parents didn't want Caleb to freeze, so the gave us the trailer & they slept in my tent. Score 1 for me!! Just kidding - I felt bad cause they slept like crap & I slept pretty good. All I can say is THANK HEAVEN for portable DVD players & Baby Einstein DVDs. They saved me. (until the battery died on the DVD player)
Some classics from the trip:
Grandma: "Angela...Blake is using the bathroom in the trailer so you'll need to come help him."
Blake: (opens the bathroom door) "I know how to poop!!"
Playing Mad Gab....my dad couldn't figure it out so he acted like the game sucked. He also thought that maybe it would help to say each card in a Chines accent.  He said "This is a girl game" What a sore loser!
Dylan's new nickname - Brownie.  He asked me "Would you like a cosmic brownie?"  I couldn't understand him for some reason.  He asked me at least 3 times & I said, "All of your friends call you brownie???"  I was so confused.

Graham Crackers!

I gave Caleb his first graham cracker yesterday. I don't even know if any of it ended up in his mouth, but it kept him busy. He shut his eyes right when I took the picture, but I still thought it was cute. If you look close you can see his 2 tiny teeth on the bottom. Can you tell that I like him?

Date Night and Popsicles

Casey & I went on a date on Friday night! It's probably only our 2nd time out alone since we had Caleb. It was fun. We went to dinner at the Pizza Factory in Ogden and then to the mall to browse around. I told him since we don't go out often, every date night should be New Shoes for Brittni night. I GOT NEW SHOES!! Really cute brown heels for church. I love them. We then decided against a movie and went to Wiseguys Comedy Club instead. What a GREAT decision. There was a hyptnotist performing that night and it was freaking hilarious. Angela watched Caleb. How nice of her!

It was so good - that I called my parents and made them go the next night. I went again and took Griffen and Blake with me so Ben & Ang could go do a BBQ with some friends. Blake was bored for most of it - Griffen liked it pretty well - my mom cackled away (Griffen turned around and said to her "Grandma, you laugh louder than anyone here!") - and I thought my dad was going to laugh his face off. Good times!!

Caleb got to share a popsicle with Casey the other day. He would make the funnist face - but he kept leaning in for more. I think he liked it though. Enjoy the pics! Here is one of him after I got done doing laundry. He thought it was a pretty cool trick to sit in the basket. Gotta love his smile.
Basment update: WE'RE FINALLY PAINTING!! Casey had to re-sheet rock some places and plaster up some mud on our frosting textured walls and then sand it smooth & get some texture on it. I'm HOPING we'll be done within the next couple of weeks. We just need to go buy some baseboard & get it painted and put it up. We also need to buy new framing for all of the doors. Hooray!
