Hardware Ranch

On Saturday (while I was working) Casey met his family at Hardware Ranch to see the elk. I've always wanted to go on a date there, but that has yet to happen. Casey said that Caleb was kind of cranky & needed a change while they were on the sleigh ride - that sucks for Caleb, Casey AND everyone else around. Peeeeee-u! After they saw the elk, the had a little tailgate party & had lunchie.
Caleb FINALLY is doing more tricks! Today - out of nowhere - he started clapping! I was saying 'Yay!! Hooray!! Good Job!!' and he kept clapping & clapping & clapping. We did this trick for most of the day.
I had to wake Caleb up to have dinner the other night - that is why he looks so shabby & cranky...but I wanted to get a picture of how he has to have his legs crossed when he eats. Silly kid.
Caleb (& Casey) are sooooo addicted to TV! Caleb will watch pretty much anything. Here they are watching some Animal Planet series about Jockeys. Boring!

Valentine's Day

What a weird holiday. Is it just supposed to make people look forward to SOMETHING since it's to frickin' cold to do anything else?? Restaurants are always soooooo crowded...flowers are soooooo overrated & just die anyway...men usually have a hard time picking out jewelry...so I told Casey I would just like a steak/shrimp dinner at home & a cake from Cold Stone. What a guy...I got EXACTLY what I asked for! Casey made steak, popcorn shrimp, corn & baked potatoes for dinner & then we snarfed down a cold stone cake with red velvet cake & cake batter ice cream. DELISH!!! I was actually slightly disappointed in the ice cream cake. I expected nothing but perfection from the Cold Stone Creamery & it isn't perfected quite yet. Good...but I need to sample other flavors before I put in my full verdict.

I got Casey a T-Shirt & a big Reese's heart & Caleb got a tiger flashlight that roars. He loves it. Caleb got me a cute stuffed teddy bear & some cheesecake Hershey kisses & got Casey some regular mini Reese's. Anyone notice that Casey might like Reese's??? Caleb also got a bag of mini teddy Grahams from my mom & dad & a toy semi from Casey's mom & dad.

I really have nothing new going on in my life...so I thought I'd show you something that I do to make cooking not seem like such a hassle sometimes. I HATE chopping up onions. They are good to add to ground beef, soups, some casseroles & I don't add them because I hate cutting them. One of my sister's neighbors actually gave me this idea....but I will buy a bag of onions (much cheaper than buying them individually) and chop them all up in my food processor & separate it into a bunch of different Ziploc baggies & freeze them. Your fridge/freezer does smell like onions for a few days - but it goes away and I haven't noticed the onion taste getting into any other food. Hope this helps someone!

Randoms

I sat the garbage out the other day & was going to go get some shoes because the cement was wet & I didn't want wet feet...bad call Brittni. Bad call.

I went to the gym 18 out of 31 days in January. Dripping sweat. So sore that I can barely move. And I lost ZERO pounds. I've been doing weight watchers for 2 weeks & I've lost 7 pounds. Stupid food. I don't think I eat poorly. I never buy ANY good food. Whenever anyone in my family comes over they check my pantry & fridge for something good & never find anything. I'm not sure why the keep looking. I don't buy chips, cookies, cakes, ice cream, candy...nothing like that and I don't drink soda hardly ever....but I guess with Weight Watchers it is all about portions. So - want to shed a few - it's the secret.

Here is a pic of me & Caleb watching Shrek. He still loves it & loves Shrek 2. I've tried putting in Finding Nemo or The Little Mermaid because they are so colorful, & he flat out isn't interested. What a weird kid. But - I like him.
