ThAnKsViNg!

Happy Thanksgiving!! It was a pretty good day - with WONDERFUL food. My favs...the stuffing...the potatoes & gravy...the rolls & butter...the celery & dip. This year we went to my parents house and it was a lot of fun. I did get the start of a migraine...lights hurt, moving hurt, & Caleb was talking a nap so I went & laid with him for an hour & felt much better. We then all got together and played the game Buzz Word. It was a good time. What's the most fun - is when the boys are losing (after they INSIST on it being boys against girls) that they completely shut down & act so put out to be playing. I will admit I wasn't much help to my team though - I didn't know any answers. Oh well - still a very fun game.

My Grandma Anderson has the most divine roll recipe. And I believe this year I mastered it...I do have to work on the shape of them though. Some of them were a little to risk-ay to be serving at a family dinner. Sometimes I wish my mind wasn't dirty - but I'm not quite sure if I can stop. I put the nicely shaped ones on top...I'll let you mind wander as to where my mind was.

My dad bought a couple of Trail 90's (similar to a Mo-Ped) and everyone took a turn.

Caleb has been so sick & it's so sad! On Tuesday he was vomiting all day long. I'm not exaggerating either. It was ALL DAY LONG. Then on Wednesday he was super moody and didn't eat a whole lot - but did throw up a little sometime in his sleep on Wednesday night. So - on Thursday morning I fed him some applesauce for breakfast and he threw that all up. I then gave him a bath, got him dressed, and he threw up all over again. We called the Dr on call & he said to take him to the emergency room because of the risk of dehydration...the ER Dr thought he was just fine because he was alert & wasn't dehydrated. So he recommended a liquid diet of Gatorade and Popsicles for 24 hours - so Caleb didn't even get to enjoy his first Thanksgiving! How sad! We discovered that he is getting a new tooth as well - so vomiting and a fever & sore gums...poor guy. He is feeling much better this morning. I've fed him pears & they are still in him - so that's a bonus.

Here is is watching Shrek as I blog - I thought his reflection was so stinking cute in the entertainment center window.

I've entered the world of couponing. Talk about an intimidating cross over! I've gotten 2 weeks worth of coupons (5 sets of coupons each Sunday) and went shopping at Smith's today. I don't know if I got SCREAMING deals - but I am still learning. Let me break it down for ya (wooka wooka - yes that's me spinning a record)

10 cans Dole Frt Salad/Mandrain Oranges
on sale for 1.00 ($10) had 5 .55 cent off coupons
making them .73 cents each - $7.30
2 HUGE Honey Nut Cheerios
on sale for 2.50 ($5) had 2 .55 cent off coupons
making them $1.95 each = $3.90
4 HUGE lucky Charms, 2 HUGE Cinn toast crunch
on sale for 2.50 ($15.00) had 2 $1 off 3 coupons
making them $2.16 each = $13.00
4 pkgs Carefree Panty Liners (jealous??)
on sale for 2.50 ($10.00) had 2 $1 of 2 coupons
making them 2.00 each = $8.00
4 Beech Nut Baby food
Not on sale (the kid has to eat) = $3.00
7 Gerber Baby food
Not on sale .71 cents each ($4.97) $1.25 in coupons
maing them .53 cents each = $3.71
I'm an idiot though - cause if you spend $25 in groceries at Smith's now you get a turkey for a great price - I forgot. Hopefully they'll let me take my reciept in & get one.

So - final cost (with tax) was $36.50. I saved $13.10 in coupons. $36.65 in Fresh Values...so I saved $49.75. That is 58%. I think I did okay for my first time & hope that I can get better the more that I go.

Raking is kind of fun :) I've let Casey do it most years & I just do the clean up in the spring, but this year he was slacking so I got on it...don't laugh, but my triceps are sore from it. I'm pathetic - I'm aware. I sat Caleb on the biggest pile & he thought it was kind of fun. I'm attaching a bunch of photos so that you can see what we go through EVERY TIME that the camera is taken out. It's a process!! How did people ever get good pictures without the option to delete??

I think he has figured out that the flash hurts his eyes.
He shuts his eyes & turns his head for the first pic ever time! For some reason - he has to make a weird face.
Still super cute - but COME ON!

Finally - eye contact. BUT - bad lighting!! (yes, the shadow is my freaking body...but he was looking so I took the pic)

Casey coming to distract him - just as I'm getting eye contact...grrrrCrawled away from the leaf pile...just chillin.

Crawls to me because he wants to play with the camera.
This boy skips whining & goes straight to the scream.
I managed to get a shot of him freaking.

Almost One!

Caleb is 11 months old! When did that happen?!?! His personality is really quite funny. He is going to need anger management SOON. He get so frustrated with things! At my sister's (Angela's) there is a frisbie he plays with and when it flips to the one side & he can't grip it to pick it up - he FREAKS. He has the highest pitched voice. It's funny. He loves to say 'Guh' in the mornings...over & over & over again. We practice patty cake - but he freaks after 2 or 3 times because he wants me to let go of his hands. He is walking along ALL walls & keeping his balance really well - he should be walking any day now. His turbo fast crawl is super funny as well. Here are some recent pics. Enjoy!

He LOVES his thumb!

We pull it out & say 'No' but he thinks it's a game.

What a poser! You lookin at me?

Casey eating his feet - he loves it!

Donald Trump?? Is that you?

His hair was hilarious after we took his hat off of him but I figured I wouldn't get a good enough picture because he has the thinnest hair ever...thank goodness for the dark couch in the background so that you can see it.

Happy Anniversary!

Casey & I just celebrated our 5th wedding Anniversary. 5 years & no casualties...don't I win something now? I took him to Metallica on Monday, Nov 3rd & it was a blast. I attempted to take some pictures with my phone - but they didn't work out. We were on the 4th row! Talk about freaking AWESOME seats! We went to dinner at the Italian restaurant in the Gateway called Biaggi's. I wasn't super impressed - but I do enjoy trying new things. We went all out with an appetizer, main course & dessert! Needless to say - we didn't go hungry. My mom watched Caleb for us and I got thinking that it was the first time we'd went on a date since he was born.
I had a terrible day on Saturday (our real anniversary) and Casey got me some beautiful flowers & a piece of cake from Smiths...yummy. We were going to go on a date that night but Caleb had a fever & I didn't want to leave the tyke. It was his first fever ever...11 months is a GREAT run without one I think!

Halloween!

On Halloween we went to see Grandma Babe - but Caleb was sound asleep & I didn't dare wake him because of the long night ahead. She peeked in the car at him & said "He really is a darling baby" If you're wondering - I am very aware of how cute my boy is. I like him :)
Master Yoda
We then went to Casey's parents house and had some dinner. Chef salads - yummy!

We then went to my parents house & fed Caleb some dinner and then went to the Jenkins house in Thatcher. It is a fun house that gets all dressed up for Halloween. There are people outside in costume hiding from you waiting to get you super scared & get you with a squirt gun. I stayed close to Caleb and they didn't get me...suckers! I'm excited for next year when Caleb can walk around.
