Pre-Christmas!

The Saturday before Christmas my family got together for fabulous food & games & presents. We had fish & a delicious roast, funeral potatoes, rolls, peas, strawberry pretzel salad, & RED VELVET CHEESCAKE. Being preganant is so freaking weird. I took a bite of the cheesecake & started crying because I thought it was so delicious. Then everyone started laughing at me so I started crying harder...& harder...& harder. I was a sobbing mess full of laughter & tears. I'm a freak.

Caleb got a fun Toy Story book and a soft Toy Story blanket from my parents. Since my friends had made Caleb a Toy Story quilt for his birthday - my Brother-in-Law Ben bought the blanket from us. He LOVED it. He wrapped up in it & said "I have a Woody under here" (ya know...the cowboy...) We bought Caleb an attachment to his Zhu Zhu pet city with the money.

Ashley & Derrick reading Caleb his new book.

Jordon drew our family name for Christmas this year & gave us the 3rd Ice Age - Dawn of the Dinosaurs & the Avatar special disc edition. We got Dylan's name & we got him a HUGE bag of skittles & the XBox 360 game - Halo Reach.

From my parents Casey & I got some nice saute pans (which I've used several times & LOVE LOVE LOVE!), an external hard drive, a gift card to Walkers & the twins got some darling outfits.

We gave my dad a SWEET Kiss Snuggie. It even has a tie so that you can tie it around your waist like a robe so if you need to stand up, it stays put! I thought that was an awesome feature.
Oh Christmas Eve. Casey & I weren't getting along the greatest - which really takes it's toll on a emotionally unstable pregnant person (or so I've heard). I made a pan of funeral potates, some muddy buddies & I attempted a cheescake topped chocolate cake (which didn't come out of the pan - but was still delicious!) After all of that cooking & cleaning it up & dealing with a SICK CALEB (which is never fun) I had flat out worn myself ragged.
We were supposed to go to Casey's parents house for dinner & fun, but I just couldn't bring myself to even get ready. I told Casey that I was going to lay down & that he & Caleb could go without me. When I got up from my mini nap - Caleb & Casey were still home! Caleb's fever was raging & he was miserable, so they stayed home also. We had leftovers for dinner...rented a red box...and looked at a few more Christmas lights around town. I hope that this isn't our new family tradition.

Here is Caleb helping me stir up the cake batter. He LOVES to grab a chair & help out not matter what I'm doing. Dishes are his favorite - but he sure gets sopping wet!
All that I can say is THANK YOU STRANGER! A few days before Christmas we heard the doorbell....I was in the middle of doing dishes & Casey was in the middle of changing a diaper, so it took us a second to get to the door - which probably helped out the elves that left this amazing surprise on our doorstep. I sure wish that I knew who to thank....so....anyone want to give me a hint???

Christmas Spirit??

I'm not in the mood for Christmas! WHY!!?? Hopefully when Christmas morning rolls around I'll feel much different about it. It seems like all year long I look forward to this time of year & then it gets here & the excitement is gone. I guess I need to stop being excited for the 11 months of the year that it isn't happening! Here are some things we've done the past couple of weeks.

Caleb got a snow shovel from my mom & dad for his birthday...I think by the look on his face in this picture he's on to me. He knows he's working & it's not as much fun as I tell him it is.
We went to see the lights at Willard Bay. We waited in line for the sleigh ride - Caleb didn't like the idea of getting on the sleigh, but once it started moving he really enjoyed it. He loved all of the lights also.
The other night we went to the Brigham City courthouse to walk around....L A M E (my personal opinion). They need some new stuff!

Timers on cameras are AWESOME.
Hands down - the BEST house in Brigham city that I've found. It is CRAZY. I wonder when they start putting their lights up.

To infinity....and beyond!

Caleb is 3! It happens so fast! It seems like only yesterday I was changing his diapers....oh wait....I still am! The child is not interested in the potty at all - but we're just taking it one day at a time. Casey & I watched the home videos that we took when he was a baby & I can barely remember him being so tiny & sweet. It blows my mind that EVERYONE starts out that way.
Enjoying his favorite breakfast - 'cereal with marmellows' - in his Buzz Light Year pajamas of course!
He snatched an unfrosted cupcake off of the counter & HATES getting stuff on his hands - so he improvised. What a thinker.
My mad skills. The cupcakes are supposed to be aliens. I couldn't find the right tip I wanted for the eyes & they didn't get ears - but Caleb LOVED them & they turned out all right.
Picture time!
After taking pictures with his cake - he thought he deserved a treat!
Playing with his train from me & Casey.
He loved the awesome track & trucks from my Grandma & Grandpa Hunsaker.
I'm not sure what is going on with his face in this picture - but it cracks me up. He sang along to 'Happy Birthday' with everyone else. It was adorable.
He must be part Hunsaker...my Grandma, mother, older sister & brother all LOVE frosting. He eats it & leaves the cake. He LOVED his cupcakes!
My friends MaLynda & Jess made Caleb the cutest toy story bedspread! Along with a matching pillowcase. It says "TO INFINITY AND BEYOND!" at the top of the quilt & says "CALEB" at the bottom. It's darling!

We had another party a couple of days after this one with Casey's family. We have 3 December birthdays on that side of the family & decided to combine the festivities. I didn't get any pictures that day - it was TOTALLY Caleb's nap time & after he opened his presents he got a nap while everyone play pictionary. I hate drawing.

Thanksgiving!

This year we went to my parents house for Thanksgiving. I heart Thanksgiving. I was bummed because with these twins, my stomach just doesn't allow me the room I'd like for the feast! Probably a blessing in disguise. We ate - cleaned up - played games (Mad Gab & SmartAss) & ate pie. Angela made a fabulous Pumpkin Cheesecake. I want more of it! It was delish. Casey was SURE that it came from a Marie Callendars box because it was very 'fancy'.
I'm posting the following picture for my family's memory only. You can contact me if you'd like the story...but I better not blog it. Tee hee. We'll just say that Caleb is confused about colored people & that Dylan is a B.

We made a Thankful Tree this year & wrote on it (when we remembered to).

Caleb - monkey - Dad - Mom - Buzz Light Year - bye bye in the car - guns

Brittni - beautiful sunsets - the ocean - when Caleb WANTS to cuddle in the mornings - a warm home - Casey - family - electricity - running water

Casey - sleeping in (he put this twice - so he must REALLY like it) - hunting - a patient wife - Caleb hugs & kisses - that he's not in a wheelchair - crisp, cool mornings

My Little Turkey

Caleb has been going to a pre-preschool for a couple of weeks. He has some 'transition' issues that they are working on with the darling :) He had on the cutest turkey hat the other day! I was surprised that he had it on because he usually hates stuff like it - but he had it on when I picked him up & wore it the whole way home! I think he's stinkin cute.
Isn't this why people have children? To do the dishes....match & fold the socks....clean the downstairs bathroom....and rake leaves?
I'm officially part of the the unemployed community. It's strange. I've had a job since I was 16 & haven't ever been without! November 14th was my last day working at the Rehabilitation center - & it was bitter sweet. It's been an adjustment staying home & the bigger adjustment will probably come as the income I was making is no longer existent.

Everyone there was so nice & threw me a baby shower/going away party! I think a lot of people love a reason to browse through the baby aisles. Stuff is so dang cute! I met a lot of great people while I worked at Alpine & was told that they door was open if I wanted to return. That's a great feeling to know that you did a good enough job that they would take you back!

Almost 3!

Caleb is almost 3! Casey & I attempted to get a few cute shots of him this year rather than taking him to a photo studio. I think we got a few cute ones. I still need a lot of practice with my camera & need some education on lighting. It's not good when a piece of equipment is smarter than me. It's frustrating!
