Hogle Zoo

We FINALLY had a successful family outing!!! Last Saturday my little family went to the zoo. I love my little people. Caleb was adorable. He'd check out one animal & then look at us & say "Let's go find more animals!!" The are making a new area for seals/polar bears/penguins & I am excited to go back & check that out! I loved the monkeys. They are so stinking cute! Caleb loved the gorillas & was so excited to ride on the carousal. Casey didn't say what he loved. Probably me though :) Taylor & Rylee were perfect - as always. They were so good in their stroller & we only had to feed & change them once. They are GREAT babies.

Bear Lake

My parents are FABULOUS. My mom's side of the family attempted a family reunion for the 2nd weekend in September so my parents got 2 rooms for our whole family to stay in for the whole week! We missed Dylan, Casey & Ben, but somehow we still managed to have a pretty good time. The weather was close to perfect. We played at the beach, got a boat ride from Uncle Terry, saw a HILARIOUS show (Juanito Bandito) at the Pickleville Playhouse, swam in the pool with cousin Keri & her kids Brynlee & Dalin, soaked in the hot tub, checked out Bear Lake Heritage Days, had a BBQ at Aunt Karla's, played games & ate & ate & ate! My grandparents ventured Logan Canyon to come to the BBQ. They are 80+ years old!! One of the funniest things from the trip was this conversation:

Me: So Grandpa, was there a lot of traffic in the canyon this morning?
Grandpa: Yeah....behind me (insert my grandpa's HUGE hearty laugh)

I love that he still has his sense of humor. And for the slow - he lauged because he knows he's old & drives like a turtle.

I love my mom in the picture below. She had to put her reading glasses over her sunglasses. She is a thinker!

The picture of my dad & Blake was BEFORE Blake's crazy driving threw them off of the jet ski. My dad even cracked his ribs with this incident! Blake had already had enough trauma - he had a nasty skateboarding accident a couple of days before the jet ski accident!

Juanito Bandito was so good. Rumor is they are going to be showing it in Logan & in Salt Lake. I will have to take Casey!

National Toasted Marshmallow Day!

August 30th was year #2 of celebrating one of the years BEST days! It's funny how much different this year was from last year. Last year we went to Mantua...in sweatshirts, hats, long pants & we were lucky to not get rained on. This year we were in our summer clothes fighting off mosquitoes as soon as the sun went down. Freaking blood suckers. We had hot dogs, grapes, chips & of course TOASTED MALLOWS.

These 2 sure love each other. It's almost gross. (just kidding)

Taylor & Rylee were pretty much hypnotized by the fire. Don't you love how chill Rylee looks (in the pink)? Cracks me up.

It's ridiculous how much I love a perfectly toasted mallow. Roast away my friends, roast away.

I've lost my mind

I was approached by my neighbors with the idea of watching their children. That's right. Day care. It is day 2.....& I'm wondering what I was thinking!  I don't think there is enough pepsi in the world to get me through this

I told myself I need to attempt a schedule for meals/quiet time/TV time/outside time...but the schedule will be muddled with my sweet Taylor & Rylee. They are still on the "I make my own schedule" routine.

I have the following:
2 - 6 month old beautiful girls
1 - 1 year old
1 - 4 year old
1 - 3 year old (sweet Caleb!)
1 - 5 year old (in Kindergarten - doesn't get her until 11:20)
1 - 9 year old (doesn't get here until 3)

I am so glad I'm not a polygamist.

6 months!

Can you believe that these ladies are 6 months old already??!!?? They sure don't stay super small for very long. They are both rolling all over the place, reaching for toys, eating like champs, and spend most of their time being adorable. This past week I have found BOTH of their ticklish spots...it is so fun!

Taylor

Weight 14.12 lbs - 23 percentile

Height - 27" - 86 percentile

Head Circ. - 43 - 63 percentile Rylee

Weight - 14.5 lbs - 16 percentile

Height - 26.5" - 72 percentile

Head Circ - 42 - 48 percentile Caleb, Taylor, Rylee & I walked to the park this morning and I took this picture. It shows how beautiful their blue eyes are! It also shows you how much hair they DON'T have.

Some summer pictures!

This summer is almost over!!! I've attempted to do some 'super fun' things, but they seem to always backfire - so here is what our days mostly consist of.

The girls are now eating baby food twice a day. Breakfast & dinner. They both are fabulous eaters! Here is Taylor....she must have still been hungry after breakfast!

CAUTION!!! Here comes an adorable picture!!! They are getting very strong on their stomachs and will be crawling before I know it! (Rylee in Blue - Taylor in Pink)
Our baby hummingbirds. Caleb & I would check the nest almost every morning while we were feeding Simba.

Discovering a dragonfly with dad. Caleb would NOT touch it. Notice his hands behind his back?

Rylee - "Really mom...another picture??"

Watching a movie in his Lightning McQueen tent. One of my childhood memories is making a 'fan tent' with a sheet & heavy books & a fan. I need to make one for Caleb soon!

Trying on mom's vintage PJ's. (Taylor in white - Rylee in blue)

Caleb as a robot!!

Taking a nap. I love that they are sound asleep - but in the exact same position.

Making AWESOME things with his blocks!

Caleb LOVES going to the park. We try to get there a few times each week. His favorite is the blue park (Snow park). Brigham City is lame though because they don't have any swings! I love swings!

I love lounging by the pool...any pool. This is how my pool experiences have went this year. #1 I took all 3 kids to the Brigham pool in the early summer & we lasted about an hour. They wouldn't even refund my $! Oh well - not their fault. #2 Casey, Caleb & I met some of his family & my brother Dylan at Cherry Hill for Casey's birthday in July. After about an hour & a half of swim time, they evacuated the place because of a storm. #3 Last Friday when Casey got home from work I took Caleb to the pool. We met Angela & Blake there. Finally - a good time could be had!! THEN....someone vomited in the pool. We had only been there for an hour. The pool was evacuated & they asked everyone to either get a pass to come back another day or come back after the pool was cleaned. At least we got a free pass to come back! #4 Yesterday Caleb & I finally got about 3 hours of decent pool time! Caleb loves the kid slides & loves it when Angela takes him down the big blue slide. He is also getting much braver. Last year he wouldn't walk around in the shallow end...I'd have to sit & hold him, but yesterday he would venture away from me. Not far....but baby steps is fine with me.
