Little Valley Days

Casey's mom grew up in Mantua. His Grandma & his Uncle still live there & invited us to a BBQ & to watch fireworks for Little Valley Days. We had hot dogs...I haven't had them in a LONG time & ended up being sick, but it was tasty!! I made "better than 'you know what' cake". It was fabulous. Then there was salads, fruit, veggies, brownies & trifle. Delish.

Smiley Rylee.

Caleb was so excited to hold this HUGE bowl of chips. One problem was he would take a bite out of a chip & then put it back into the bowl. S I C K. Mona found all of the ones that had bites out of them though, so it's all good!
Caleb LOVED the sparklers.

These little ladies slept through the fireworks! I couldn't believe it!

We had a mini sidewalk show....

...and then the city does fireworks over the reservoir. I have to say...it was an amazing finale! One of the best I've seen.

I'll probably attend Little Valley Days again sometime. There was some stuff going on at the park that we didn't get to go & see & I would like to see what that is all about next year!

Well...

I was told by someone the other day "Whether you think you have something to blog about or not...you can still put up some pictures of those babies!

I'm finally amusing to both of them!

Rylee (on the right) rolled over last week.

Taylor LOVES to sleep on her stomach.
A couple of weeks ago we met Derrick & Ashley at Willow Park & just wandered around. Caleb had a blast on the playground & I was amused by this pelican chasing this swan. It was hilarious! It was chasing him on one side of the pond & the swan tried to get away by swimming to the other side....Mr. Pelican just followed & continued tormenting Mr. Swan. It was cracking me up.

Once or twice a week we get irrigation water in our gutter & I've convinced Caleb that it is fun to play in. Now that I've convinced him...he checks for the water daily!
Taylor's pedicure. Rylee's toes are purple.

Here is Casey pretending he thinks this sling is stupid....when in reality he flung it on before I did!

The fourth of July was kind of blah. I wanted to go to the fireworks over in Logan on Friday night but Caleb ended up with a fever for 2 days....then Casey's family came over for a BBQ on Monday & I was kind of cranky (which I didn't know why) and I tried to watch the Brigham fireworks with Caleb Monday night, but he would just scream to go back into the house, so I put him to bed & watched them with Taylor (Rylee & Casey were sleeping). She liked them. I ended up with an ear infection in both ears (probably explaining my Monday night crankiness) & it has been terrible! I've been dizzy...sweats...fever off & on & off & on...super tired...just miserable! My antibiotic finally started to kick in last night & I am feeling MUCH better this morning.

THANKS MOM & ANGELA & CASEY FOR HELPING ME OUT! Taylor & Rylee even got their first sleepover at Aunt Angela's for a night. She said they were good! HOORAY!

Father's Day..rolling...8 1/2 inches!

For Father's day this year we had Casey's family over for a BBQ. My dad is always in Alaska over Father's day weekend...I wonder if he does it on purpose??? The food for the BBQ was fabulous! Teriyaki kabobs, mesquite chicken, pasta salad, fresh fruit, corn on the cob, chips, lime slush, rolls, cookies & peach cobbler. It was wonderful. I think I have a food obsession lately. I think about it ALL OF THE TIME!

Casey grilled all of the food to perfection!

Caleb has chocolate in his mouth....and is still trying to find his true smile.
My sister-in-law Tamara had a baby girl 6 weeks after I had Taylor & Rylee. Aren't they cute!? It amazes me how different all of their features are. Lips...head shape...eyes...nose...I figured all babies looked the same, but they really don't. I thought my girls were chunky...but after seeing little McKenna's legs - I am wrong :)
As you can see...I still crack Rylee up.
I'm working on cracking Taylor up still. Little miss Taylor rolled over today from her back to her stomach. She is 4 months old. She's been working on it for a while, but today she figured out how to get her arm out of the way. She was NOT happy on her belly.

And I said goodbye to 8 1/2 inches of hair. The past couple of weeks it has been falling out like crazy (stupid hormones) and I figured I could mentally handle short strands of hair falling out rather than 10 inch strands. I hope it grows back healthy as ever!

Watch this mom!

Oh Caleb. I think he's beginning to realize that he's been lacking attention for the past 4 months.

example numero 1: Every time he is going to do something he'll say "Watch this mom....show mom...look at me mom (with a raised hand gesture). I say I'm watching & he'll double check to make sure before he does his thing & then it goes on & on & on & on. It's worse when we are around other people. "Look at me Grandma...Look at me Dad...Look at me Papa Don...Look at me mom....LOOK AT ME EVERYBODY!" I'm excited for the moment when he realizes he can just say "Look at me everybody!" The bases are covered with that one statement son.

I love this picture of him & Rylee. He likes to lay in the crib if a baby is in it. He's a funny boy. (I can't make the picture rotate....stupid blog!)

example numero 2: I seem to ALWAYS be changing a diaper, feeding a cute baby, doing dishes, or doing laundry (or blogging once in a while). If you looked deep into my house you'd notice the filth, but I can't seem to get more than surface cleaning done anymore. Caleb will ask for something & I'll say "okay...just one second" and immediately he'll say "All Done WAITING!" Patience young padawon.

He's also quite sassy for a boy. It's quite comical. He's really good about asking about getting into things & not just making a disaster everywhere...but when we tell him no, that just isn't good enough. He just keeps asking & asking & asking & asking and we've started to say "NO. Please STOP asking!" Today I kept making suggestions for lunch & he'd say no to everything & he eventually piped up & said "I said no lunch. Now STOP ASKING!" It cracked me up.

I love that he still sleeps with his butt in the air & ankles crossed.

Now....when he asks me to do something or wants something he can't have & I tell him no. He says "Do what your told or I'll spank your butt!" Now...I bet I've only slightly swatted his but twice during the 3 1/2 years of his life. I can't wait until a stranger hears this & labels me as a child abuser.

Something adorable? I introduced Caleb to salt water taffy today. He calls it happy. How cute is it when you kid comes to you & says "Mom...have more happy please?" Adorable!

My sleepy little Taylor Bug. She is a fabulous napper!

My sweet little smiley Rylee.

I'm in love

My sister, Angela, spotted the most fabulous thing in the world a couple of weeks ago. The heavens were opened & there was a ray of light shining upon this beauty.

I CAN NOT believe how in love with this ice cream I am. I had only tasted Angela's at her house & ranted & raved about it to Casey & then a few days later he came home with a pint of heaven for me. I don't think I've ever hugged him so affectionately!! It is delicious. Red velvet ice cream with pieces of red velvet cake with a cream cheese frosting swirl. I just drooled a little. Y U M

I'm also in love with these lovely, PERFECT babies. I am so lucky!!

At least once a day I still shake my head in disbelief that there are two of them!!!
Rylee thinks I'm amusing...Taylor isn't so sure though.

Maybe Taylor will change her mind one day.

Caleb time!

On Saturday, May 21st Casey & I took Caleb out for a play date. Mona was a trooper & watched Taylor & Rylee for us. She said she was quite nervous, but of course, they were angels for her.

We were lucky enough to catch a day that it wasn't raining! We went to First Dam in Logan to feed the ducks...but apparently everyone else had the same idea & the ducks were already so full! The weren't interested in the bread we brought at all. Maybe they don't like wheat?? Caleb must have been hungry because I'd rip him off a piece of bread & he'd eat one & then throw one. It was cracking me up.

We then went to A&W for some chow. I think it was only my 2nd time there! The burger was fabulous...I could have gone without the fries. I need to convince myself that fries really aren't that fabulous most places & stop ordering them! I'll just eat some of Caleb's :)

Since the weather was still holding, we headed to Willow Park to look at the animals. Caleb LOVED the monkeys! He just asked if we could go see them today! We'll have to get back there soon. It's now $2 bucks to get into Willow Park! I didn't have any cash, so we left all of our change (better than nothing, right?) We'll have to catch up our "account" next time.
